SO, WHATCHA, WHATCHA, WHATCHA GOT BOOKED?!?!?
Holy smokes!!! Just 5 days until we land in Bogotá, Colombia! #NoSleepTillBogotá . We head for the Minneapolis airport Tuesday night, January 9th!!! Time has been flying by and we have been very busy trying to get everything ready for our adventure. There is still so much left to do.
So far, we have booked our flight from Minneapolis, Minnesota 🇺🇸to Bogotá, Colombia 🇨🇴(layover in Ft. Lauderdale), our first 33 days in Bogotá, Colombia🇨🇴, 19 days in Quito, Ecuador🇪🇨, and 14 days in Cuenca, Ecuador🇪🇨. During our time in Ecuador we will also be visiting with our friend Nilofer for several days in Santo Domingo de los Colorados, Ecuador🇪🇨. Lastly, we have booked a 4-day-trek on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu!!! We didn’t get to book the exact dates that we wanted for the Inca Trail because we snooooooozed too long and all trail permits for May sold out (the trail has a limit of 500 people per day in order to slow its inevitable deterioration).

ADVICE #1 for Inca Trail to Machu Picchu: BOOK EARLY!!
DISCLAIMER 1: While we are traveling by land across the South American continent and our luggage has the ability to convert into a backpack, we are not actually ‘backpacking’. We will be traveling with our luggage packs across the continent primarily by bus. Therefore, we feel that a more appropriate term for our style of adventure would be ‘buspacking’. SAK and JAC buspack across South America.
